Alex Brett Memorial Shield

Poignant moment for friends and ex-clubmates of Alex, as Ross Bannerman (left) presents the new shield to Colin Arthur, as 1st Vet 60 in the 18 mile race. Alex, a 27 times GWC participant, sadly died in a mountain accident last September. The shield was hand-carved by Alex' brother-in-law Sandy Mackay from Alness, and gifted to the GWC to be awarded annually to the first Veteran 60 in the long race.
